How It Works

One table, and a menu we'll only cook for you.

Puerta Cerrada by Chef Judith isn't a restaurant in the usual sense. On select dates, Chef Judith opens her dining room for an intimate dinner or brunch, with a menu designed for that gathering and just a handful of seats at the table.

Every menu has its own story, and most are cooked only once. Now and then one is so loved that Judith brings it back, but that's the exception, and it's the guests who earn it.

Dinner without the restaurant rush

There's no waiting for a table and no ten-page menu to work through. Judith knows exactly who's coming, so she shops and cooks for those guests and that evening, and nothing is made in bulk or kept warm for whoever walks in. It's a slower, more personal way to eat, and you can taste the difference.

Yes. All public dinners and brunches are by reservation only and paid in advance.
Can I walk in?
No. The dining room only opens for scheduled dinners, brunches, and private events.
How many guests attend?
Up to sixteen, and often fewer. Each event page lists how many seats are available.
Can I book for a group?
Public reservations are for up to four guests. For a larger group, ask us about reserving the whole table for a private dinner created specifically for your group.
How can I pay?
By SPEI bank transfer, or via credit card. Credit Card payment link will be provided after your reservation is received. Prices are in Mexican pesos.
When is my reservation confirmed?
As soon as we receive your payment. We'll send a confirmation with everything you need for the evening.
What if I need to cancel?
Each menu is shopped for and prepared for the guests who are coming, so reservations can't be refunded within 72 hours of the event. You're always welcome to give your seat to someone else; just let us know their name.
Can you accommodate allergies or dietary restrictions?
Please tell us when you book. Every dinner has a set menu, so we can't adjust for every restriction, but we'll always tell you honestly whether a particular dinner will work for you.
Are drinks included?
It depends on the event. Each event description spells out exactly what's included.
Where is the dining room?
In Centro Mazatlán. You'll get the exact address and arrival details with your confirmation.

Private Dining

Make the table yours

Whether you're in Mazatlán with family, marking a milestone, or just want an evening that belongs entirely to your group, the dining room can be reserved for up to sixteen guests. You'll plan the menu with Judith herself, built around your occasion and the people at the table. Tell us what you have in mind and we'll put together a proposal.

Chef Judith has spent decades cooking for people. Her food has always been built on fresh ingredients and a generous hand, and on the kind of hospitality that makes people want to stay at the table a little longer.

For years she ran a traditional breakfast-and-lunch restaurant, cooking private meals, catering, and events on the side. Then one July evening, she and her daughter hosted a dinner for twelve: six courses written for that night alone, from a sierra mackerel tartar with bitter orange to a vitello tonnato made with Mazatlán's smoked marlin. Every seat was filled by someone who had come for that meal and nothing else. It changed how she saw what a dinner could be.

En Compañía grew out of that night. Judith still cooks the way she always has, carefully and without shortcuts. There are simply fewer chairs now.
